Joanna Mittal is a Taipei-based design consultant who partners with brands to develop production-ready collections in Asia. Originally from Vancouver and shaped by a decade in Toronto, she brings a Western design perspective and expertise in global trends.

Relocating to Taipei to be near key manufacturing hubs, she combines hands-on support with a global perspective—conducting factory visits, reviewing samples in person, and leveraging her native English for seamless collaboration with clients worldwide.

With design experience in outerwear, ready-to-wear, and tailoring, Joanna blends creative vision with technical expertise, using her styling and tailoring skills to perfect fit, proportion, and construction.

In 2021, she founded Jo Studios, a consulting practice helping emerging and established brands build cohesive capsules, refine concepts, create accurate tech packs, and navigate production in Asia with clarity.

Her work spans niche labels to global brands, including contributing to Canada Goose’s debut capsule under Haider Ackermann, shaping her approach to craftsmanship, performance, and collaborative development.
