JO STUDIOS

I am a Canadian apparel designer with over seven years of experience designing performance, lifestyle, and technical apparel across men’s and women’s categories.

My work is rooted in movement and informed by how garments function in real life. I am interested in the relationship between fit, construction, and user experience, creating products that balance performance, comfort, and a clear design point of view.

My perspective has been shaped between Vancouver and Toronto, and through close collaboration with manufacturing partners across Asia, including a period in Taipei working directly with factories and development teams. Working hands on with sampling, fittings, construction, and production continues to inform how I approach design and product creation.

I have led apparel development from concept through production, working across consumer insight, trend research, silhouette development, material strategy, fittings, technical packages, and vendor collaboration. In 2021, I founded Jo Studios as an independent design practice, developing collections with a focus on functionality, thoughtful systems, and product integrity.

My experience also includes contributing to Canada Goose’s inaugural Snow Goose capsule under Haider Ackermann, where I supported concept development, silhouette design, and technical execution within a performance and lifestyle framework.

Across my work, I am drawn to creating products that feel intuitive in use. I believe the most successful apparel balances technical rigor with simplicity, allowing the wearer to focus on movement rather than the garment itself.
